Guidelines For Giveaways & Promotions on Facebook

i did not write these, i got them from facebook.com, they are the property of facebook. i am just posting them so everyone knows the new rules and regulations about giveaways and promotions on facebook..

Promotions Guidelines

Date of Last Revision: May 11, 2011

These Promotion Guidelines, along with the Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, the Ad Guidelines, the Platform Policies and all other applicable Facebook policies, govern your communication about or administration of any contest, competition, sweepstakes or other similar offering (each, a "promotion") using Facebook.

If you use Facebook to communicate about or administer a promotion, you are responsible for the lawful operation of that promotion, including the official rules, offer terms and eligibility requirements (e.g., age and residency restrictions), and compliance with regulations governing the promotion and all prizes offered in connection with the promotion (e.g., registration and obtaining necessary regulatory approvals).  Please note that compliance with these Guidelines does not constitute the lawfulness of a promotion.  Promotions are subject to many regulations and if you are not certain that your promotion complies with applicable law, please consult with an expert.

Promotions on Facebook must be administered within Apps on Facebook.com, either on a Canvas Page or an app on a Page Tab.

Promotions on Facebook must include the following:
a. A complete release of Facebook by each entrant or participant.
b. Acknowledgment that the promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook.
c. Disclosure that the participant is providing information to [disclose recipient(s) of information] and not to Facebook.

You must not use Facebook features or functionality as a promotion’s registration or entry mechanism.  For example, the act of liking a Page or checking in to a Place cannot automatically register or enter a promotion participant.

You must not condition registration or entry upon the user taking any action using any Facebook features or functionality other than liking a Page, checking in to a Place, or connecting to your app.  For example, you must not condition registration or entry upon the user liking a Wall post, or commenting or uploading a photo on a Wall.

You must not use Facebook features or functionality, such as the Like button, as a voting mechanism for a promotion.

You must not notify winners through Facebook, such as through Facebook messages, chat, or posts on profiles or Pages.

You may not use Facebook’s name, trademarks, trade names, copyrights, or any other intellectual property in connection with a promotion or mention Facebook in the rules or materials relating to the promotion, except as needed to fulfill your obligations under Section 2.

Definitions:
a. By “administration” we mean the operation of any element of the promotion, such as collecting entries, conducting a drawing, judging entries, or notifying winners.
b. By “communication” we mean promoting, advertising or referencing a promotion in any way on Facebook, e.g., in ads, on a Page, or in a Wall post.
c. By “contest” or “competition” we mean a promotion that includes a prize of monetary value and a winner determined on the basis of skill (i.e., through judging based on specific criteria).
d. By “sweepstakes” we mean a promotion that includes a prize of monetary value and a winner selected on the basis of chance

MetroMint Review

Picture from Hunt4freebies.com

I went to a Girl's Night Out event a few weeks back and inside our giftbag there was a bottle of the chocolate Metromint. Now for most who know me, I drink Chai Lattes and Sparkling Drinks... usually Mountain Dew, or Sunkist Fusion. But upon arriving home I was thirsty so I popped open a bottle of this water and ... WOW.. it's amazing. It tastes super minty and chocolatey. I was floored by how fantastic it was. And to top it off there was 3 ingredients in the bottle Purified Water, Mint and Chocolate Essense. Not sure how they get the essence in there, but its there and boy was it good.

So I went a few days later to have lunch with my Nana at Bristol Farms and ordered my sandwich and went to find something to drink in the store and low and behold they carried it.. and it was on sale.. (4 bottles for $5) So I grabbed the Cherry Mint, the Chocolate Mint, The OrangeMint, and the Peppermint. The cherry is super minty and has a nice refreshing hint of cherry. Tasted fantastic.

Now the bottle has cool levels on them to let you know how strong the mint will be ..

So my Nana took the Chocolate Mint home with her since I already had a bottle at home and she called me a few hours after I got home to let me know she had poured some into a small glass of cola and it had entirely taken over the taste of the soda.. she couldn't believe it.

I get this drink a 4 star rating because it's really wonderful. It's refreshing, healthy has no calories and just overall is great. If you see a bottle pick it up it is definitely worth a taste.

4/5 kitten rating. Definitely going to find them in my fridge from now on.

SCRUBBING BUBBLES - is also doing a freebie.. watch there wall on facebook for when the next one will happen.. if you are following us on facebook I will try to announce it.

SWIFFER - is giving away swiffer starter kits all through May so look for those.

Thanks

Review of Thor

So on tuesday the boyfriend and I (I being Traci) went down to our theatre because we had an invite to watch a screener movie and recieve a free movie ticket. So we got ourselves down there and got in line. Now we go to these things all the time and have seen tons of popular movies, we always go to ones like this because the no name movies with no one special usually come with a free ticket and barely anyone shows up.. the line was around the block when we got there.. which I have never seen in all the time I have done screeners. Well anyways, we got pulled to the front of the line for fitting the demographic, but didnt end up making it in. Sweetly the company gave us a set of tickets to see something else for our efforts. We had already decided we were going to see a movie because we had driven over and didnt want to waste a date night, so the free tickets when we didnt get in were awesome.

We decided on Thor. 1. because I am a huge comic book geek and so is he. and 2. because well.. Thor is pretty hot..  and we both love mythology. So I guess we went in already a little excited about the movie. Now let me tell you in my opinion this is the best Superhero movie to come out in a long time. I loved the story line. I loved the acting. I loved who they choose for the characters they all played there parts so well. When Thor walked onstage without his shirt off, I growled a little cause come on he is pretty sexy. My boyfriend spent the rest of the night laughing at me, then later admitted he almost growled himself. (lol)

The action was pretty good, a little fake at times but it rolled well with the story and didnt hurt it. The Thor fans should be happy with the storyline it followed a lot with the comics as well as for those who aren't comic nerds like myself it showed a lot of norse mythology which was really great to. The acting I thought was pretty good. Everyone played there parts so well. I really liked the Gatekeeper, and Kat Dennings had a lot of really funny one liners.

Overall I really really enjoyed the movie. I'm even taking my mother to go see it sometime this week. I also will be buying it when it comes out on dvd. I'm giving it a 5/5 because honestly it's one of the best to come out in a long time for the comic world, and this summer is just getting better and better. I tremble at the idea of all the movies I want to see.

So 5/5 kitten rating. Definitely worth seeing.

Urban Decay Review

I saw this last June at the Make Up Artist Trade Show in Pasadena before it hit shelves in July. Of course the girls at the booth talked it up, but they didnt have samples or even product for sales because it was a while before it actually came out in stores. So of course i forgot about it, until a recent trip to Ulta.

I was asked to do Prom makeup so i was at Ulta picking up some new colors that would match the dress, of course i went straight to the NYX section they were buy 2 get one free and i love NYX (but thats another post entirely, lol). When you get up to the registers they have bins with half size product for half the price. for Prom makeup you definitely want something that will last all night as you dance the night away.

I get to the registers and they have a small version of the All Nighter spray for only $10, so i buy it and decide to try it on myself before using it for my makeup application. I tried it two days before the prom, spritz it on when I completely finished all of my makeup, concealers, moisturizer, foundation, eyes, and finishing powder. You just have to spray it 2-4 times all over your face. I applied my makeup at 8 am on thursday morning and went through the entire day, only having to re apply eyeliner. I didnt take my makeup off until 7 am on friday morning (i work two jobs, 1 during the day and one overnight).

This spray is amazing. It doesnt smell amazing, but the smell goes away after maybe at most 30 seconds. But for the end result, the smell is worth it. My makeup lasted all day, with just 2-4 spritz of product. Ive used it everyday for the past two weeks and the bottle still feels full. You get a lot of use for the price you pay. I would definitely recommend this product to other makeup artists and friends. I will definitely be using this on my Photo Shoots and on set.

Other great blogs

I follow tons of great blogs that give me awesome information. I am constantly learning new things in the sale/couponers/free world. So I will post things I find on other blogs with a tag back to them of course to help you discover other great blogs as well. :)

Good Advice to New Couponers

1. Not all employees know the coupon policy so it is best when doing good deals to bring along a printed copy of the coupon policy from the website of the store, this ensures that you are armed with the knowledge.
2. Dont be rude to employees. A lot of them are like most people and unhappy in there jobs or have things going on at home, and if you are going to shop at this store a lot you want employees on your side.
3. Don't clear shelfs.. yes you have 10 BOGO for the BOGO item and you are excited but think of how the next couponer will feel when they come in to grab the same product. Yes I know a lot of people do it.. but I like to think.. Karma.. it comes back at you..

4. If you live in a state with tax calculate in tax, when I first started I would see deals and step by step instructions for amazing purchases, grab my coupons and rush down and then be confused when the price came out to way more then I read on a blog.. Living in california I pay almost 10% in tax.. so that's a $1 for every $10 I spend which can make freebie''s for me pricey if I buy too many. So pay attention to your states sales tax that is going to affect your deals
5. Bring all your coupons and have them ready before you get to check out, one this saves time for the people in line with you but also makes it easier for you not to forget a coupon. I have forgotten coupons so many times when I was hustling because I didnt have them ready.. and 0.50 and 0.25 add up when you forget too many.

Where Do I get coupons

Here is a list of all the printable coupon sites

coupons.com
Smart Source
RedPlum
Target

Other places:

your local newspaper
store flyers and circulars
stores websites
in stores
facebook pages of the products

and many more.. they show up in strange places :)

I always look out for coupons and grab any I see so I can trade with friends for ones I can better use
